Nils Winter

Nils Winter ( born March 27, 1977 in Buxtehude ) is a former German long jumper.

Nils Winter 2003 won the national title in the long jump. The following year he took part in the Olympic Games in Athens. He was German long jump champion in the indoor and outdoor in 2005 and also won the European Cup in Florence. In 2007 he was for the second time German indoor champion.

At the European Indoor Championships he set in March 2009 in Turin, a new indoor personal best performance and was 8.22 m second behind the European record -catching Sebastian Bayer. At the World Championships, which were held in the same year in Berlin, he left in qualifying.

2012 Winter jumped for the first time after almost three years over eight meters and qualified for the European Championships in Helsinki. In September 2012, finished his career winter.

Nils Winter began his athletic career in 1987 at the BSV Buxtehude. From 1998 to 2002 he was active for MobilCom decathlon shaft. In 2002, he then joined to the TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen. After the summer 2007 season, his coach Bernd Knut ended his professional career. Nils Winter joined then together with the Three Springer Charles Friedek the newly founded club team reference network Leverkusen. Both trained now under sports scientist Sebastian Hess. After dissolution of the Association Team Reference Network Winter 2010 moved back to the BSV Buxtehude.
