NIN (magazine)

NIN ( Serbian Cyrillic НИН ) is a weekly news magazine Serbian, published in Belgrade. The title is an acronym for Nedeljne informativne novine ( Недељне информативне новине ), which translates to about Informative Weekly newspaper means.

Nin is a current affairs magazine which exerts influence on the Serbian ( and formerly Yugoslav ) Elites and the formation of public opinion in Serbia. The magazine has 35 employees.

Nin's Literature Award

Since 1954, Nin annually awards the NIN Prize for Literature ( Ninova nagrada, Нинова награда, the NIN Prize ), an important literary prize for Serbian authors. Major award winners were Danilo Kis, Dobrica Cosic, Aleksandar Tišma, Oskar davico, Miroslav Krleža, Mehmed Meša Selimović, Miloš Crnjanski, Milorad Pavić, Bora Cosic, Dubravka Ugrešić, Milovan Danojlić (1997) and Branko Ćopić.
