Nina Grosse

Nina Grosse ( born August 11, 1958 in Munich) is a German film director and writer.

Life

Nina Grosse grew up in Munich and Geneva. She studied from 1979 to 1981 German literature, philosophy and theater studies at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich, then moved to the University of Television and Film Munich for studying directing. Her first feature film, the literary adaptation The glass sky on a story by Julio Cortazar, for which she also wrote the screenplay, was awarded the Bavarian Film Award in 1987 and nominated for the German Film Prize. The feature film Never in my life, in which she wrote the book together with lead actor Helmut Berger and directed, received the 1991 Max Ophüls Prize.

In 1997 she realized the international movie Feuerreiter, has life Hölderlin on the topic. The film was shown at numerous international festivals and Ulrich Matthes Award for his role as Sinclair with the Bavarian Film Prize. After numerous works for television, for which they often also wrote the screenplay, turned Nina Grosse 2002 her next movie Olgas Sommer, a German - French co-production with Clemence Poesy and Bruno Todeschini in the lead roles.

Together with Friedrich Ani and Katja Flint, she developed 2004-2007, the ZDF series Franziska Luginsland, for which she wrote and directed three episodes. The drama of the prodigal son, which she directed from a screenplay by Fred and Léonie -Claire Breinersdorfer, won the prize for best TV movie at Filmfest Munich 2009. 2012 Bernhard Schlink's novel adapted Nina Big Weekend for the big screen. For the ZDF series crime based on the bestseller by Ferdinand von Schirach she wrote the consequences Green and Summertime.

Nina Grosse taught at film schools in Baden- Württemberg, Potsdam and Cologne. From 2004 to 2007 Nina Grosse was a board member of the German Film Academy.
