The nuclear power plant Ningde (Chinese宁德 核 电厂, Pinyin Ningde Hédiànchǎng ) is a property under construction nuclear power plant in Ningde, in the east of Fujian Province in the People's Republic of China. The site is located 143 kilometers from Fuzhou.

The reactors

The project was designed Ningde nuclear power plant with an installed capacity of 6000 MW and is built on the three islands in the village Beiwan of Fuding City, outside inhabited areas.

The project consists of six pressurized water reactors.

The construction phases

The reactors are to be built in three phases. After further refinement of the four generators of the first phase of the project, the CPR - 1000 reactors, which were used in Phase 1, used in the nuclear power plant Ling'ao.

During the construction phase 1 to four reactors to be built in Phase 2 two more. The plan for Phase 3 is not yet known.

The China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group ( CGNPG ), Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. and Fujian Coal Industry Group jointly fund the project with a total investment of over 70 billion yuan. The preparations for the construction are mostly completed.

The project will reduce the burden on the local power significantly.
