Nino Castelnuovo

Nino Castelnuovo (actually Francesco Castelnuovo, born October 28, 1936 in Lecco ) is an Italian actor.

Life and work

The first film role came in 1959 alongside Claudia Cardinale and Pietro Germi in the Italian drama under smooth skin. His international breakthrough came in 1964, the actor applause of foreign critics with the film The Umbrellas of Cherbourg at the side of Catherine Deneuve. In Italy itself, he was first noticed in 1967 The Betrothed by the audience through the mini- series and has since played regularly in Italian cinema and TV productions. With its role of D' Agostino in 1996 he joined in the Oscar-winning film The English Patient on.

In addition, Castel Nuovo is the Italian theater active, such as in 2002 in the play Prima Pagina, which is the Italian version of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur in 1931 published piece The Front Page.

Since 2005, Castelnuovo is almost blind.
