Nino Oliviero

Nino Oliviero ( born February 13, 1918 in Naples, Italy, † March 1, 1980 in Rome) was an Italian composer.

Biography

Nino Oliviero studied at the Conservatory " San Pietro a Majella " Naples music and violin. Then he wrote and composed successfully Neapolitan folk music, including hits such as Nu quarto 'e luna and O ciucciariello. From the mid- 1950s and especially in the 1960s Oliviero was successfully employed as a composer for the Italian film. In addition to successful scores for the gray galley, key game in Texas and only a matter of time, he was nominated for the Academy Awards in 1964, together with Riz Ortolani and Norman Newell for her song More from the documentary Mondo Cane for Best Song.

During this time he worked in parallel as a music journalist for several newspapers and magazines. On March 1, 1980 Oliviero died at the age of 62 after a long illness in Rome.
