The Middle Fritillary ( Argynnis niobe ) is a butterfly ( butterfly ) of the family Nymphalidae ( Nymphalidae ).

Features

The moths reach a wingspan of 45 to 50 millimeters. The wing tops are orange with black spots and transverse bands and a dark edge of wing. The wing undersides are light orange to light yellow colored with small mother of pearl spots in the Basalhälfte. The caterpillar has a dark base color with small white spots and white spines with rotorangener root.

The shape of A. niobe f eris has no silver spots on the underside of the hind wings, and usually occurs at higher altitudes and fly there sometimes exclusively. The intermediate form is referred to as f intermedia. The darkened shape of the females f obscura occurs not infrequently.

Egg, caterpillar, pupa

The reddish-yellow egg has 16 longitudinal ribs. The brown caterpillar has a white, black-rimmed spinal stripe, dark side stripes and white spots on the side. She wears red white thorns. The head is yellow rust. The brownish doll has small metallic spikes on the back.

Occurrence

The species occurs throughout Europe prior to the 62nd degree. You lack in southern Spain, the UK and Ireland. About Asia Minor, the Middle East and other parts of Asia, it occurs to the Amur. She lives on forest edges, clearings and forest near- poor grassland.

Germany

In Germany, the way a sharp decline in development and only comes like an island before.
