Production and representation
Niobium (V) bromide, can be obtained by reacting niobium with bromine.
Properties
Niobium (V ) bromide is a highly moisture-sensitive red solid which is readily soluble in ethanol. There are three known modifications. The α - and β - form have an orthorhombic crystal structure with space group PBMA or CCMM. The third form has a triclinic crystal structure with space group P1. This is isotypic with the triclinic form of niobium (V ) iodide.
