Nippon Sheet Glass

The company Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd.. (English, in short: NSG; jap日本 板 硝 子 株式会社, Nihon Ita - garasu Kabushiki - gaisha ), listed on the Nikkei 225, ISIN JP3686800008, is a Japanese company in the manufacture of glass and glass finish and is part of the Sumitomo Group.

In March 2006, the Board of Pilkington plc recommended the shareholders to accept one of the Japanese glass manufacturer NSG (Nippon Sheet Glass ) pronounced bid. On 19 April 2006, the shareholders approved the proposal at an extraordinary general meeting.

With the acquisition of the British company Pilkington, the company is one of the two largest glass manufacturers. Besides competing, the world's second largest Japanese companies in the glassmaking, Asahi Glass.
