The Nippori Station (Japanese日暮 里 駅, Nippori -eki ) is located in Arakawa located in Tokyo, Japan.

History

On April 1, 1905, the railway station for the Japanese National Railways (now JR East ) is opened. On 19 December 1931, the station of Keisei Dentetsu is opened. During the Second World War, the railway station on February 25, 1945, destroyed. Since the year 2004 the station is fully refurbished and the work is not yet completed to date ( September 2008). Since the 100 - year anniversary of the station in 2005, a special bento is sold. On March 30, 2008, the Nippori - Toneri Liner station is opened.

Design and tracks

JR East and Keisei platforms Dentetsu

The Stations of the JR East and Keisei Dentetsu are created in the commonly encountered form of a station as a transit stations. Both companies share the assumed existing at the station eight platform tracks. The tracks run in a north -west -southeast divide it into four central platforms. The two northern platforms are doing, then, after assignment to a line, the two southern platforms according to their direction of travel. In the middle of the station four tracks run through without platforms, these are used by the Utsunomiya Line and Takasaki Line of JR East.

The station is being renovated since 2004. To a certain notoriety, it has used a mix of a construction worker who is responsible for the conversion signage because its signs consist only of colored tape.

Platforms Nippori - Toneri Liner

The station of the Nippori - Toneri Liner of the Office of the Tokyo prefecture was erected perpendicular to the tracks of the JR East and Keisei Dentetsu as a railhead. The tracks left in a northeasterly direction to the railway station and wrinkles after 50 meters the path of the National Road 58, following in the northwest from the next stop Nishi- Nippori.

Environment

In the drama series trick of the station and its environment was many Shooting location of the series.

Near the train station, there were a few years ago a road with a large number Dagashi vendors (candy ). However, their number is declining for years, so the remain today hardly one of the once 140 dealer today.

Directly to the east of the station square then extends the shopping street Nipporichūō - dori (日暮里 中央 通り). In this street and its vicinity are many shops around sewing and textile design.

Use

In 2007, the station from an average of 81 444 passengers was used on the day, so that the rank 49 took over 900 on the ranking of the busiest train stations of JR East in 2007. The Keisei main line had been used in 2007 at the station average of 47 804 and 39 952 zusteigenden disembarking passengers. The train station making it the third most-used station on the Keisei Dentetsu. Currently (September 2008) are for the Nippori - Toneri Liner still no ridership.
