Nir Zidkyahu

Nir Zidkyahu (* November 1967 in Rishon LeZion, Israel) is an Israeli drummer.

Biography

Wider gained fame Zidkyahu when he played in 1997 for Genesis after the departure of Phil Collins on the album Calling All Stations and on the following tour in 1998.

Zidkyahu lives since 1992 in New York and works mostly as a session musician. Due to the difficult -to-pronounce last name he calls himself now " Nir Z". His brother called Tomer Z and is also the drummer in Blackfield.

With Ray Wilson, with whom he shared the time in Genesis, he released under the band name Cut 1999 album Millionairhead.

In 2001 he played on John Mayer's album Room for Squares. After that he played with Jason Mraz, Joss Stone and Alana Davis. In 2006, he took with Flaw Album Endangered Species on and with Chris Cornell whose secondly solo album Carry On. In 2009 he was touring drummer for Billy Squier.
