Nisporeni is a city in Moldova. It is the capital of the eponymous Rajon Nisporeni.

History

For the first time the city Nisporeni is mentioned in 1618 in an official document of Gaspar Graziani. According to a census of the eighteenth century there were in Nisporeni 73 houses and cabins. By 1875, the population of 3532 people, including 1840 men had risen. The main occupation was agriculture. A special branch was the cultivation of vines and fruit. At the beginning of the 21st century, the city began to develop new business models, where it was supported by funds from abroad.

2011 in Nisporeni a monumental cross was erected, at that time the largest in Moldova.

In the city is the seat of the television Albasat TV.
