The Nissan Civilian ( kana :日 产·シビリアン) is a bus, which is being built by Nissan and UD Trucks Corporation. It is available as a bus in the city and as a coach. In Japan, Asia- Pacific, the Middle East and South America are its main competitor, the Mitsubishi Fuso Rosa, Isuzu Journey and Toyota Coaster.

Model

Nissan Hikaru / At Han (1959-1962)

Originally this model was based on the Nissan Caball KC42 truck. On the platform was introduced in 1959, the Nissan Hikaru, a minibus for military purposes. As a civilian version of Nissan was called In Han.

Nissan Echo C140 C142 ( 1962-1966 )

1962 Hikaru was revised and changed its name to Nissan echo. The drive took over each of the diesel engine SD22.

Nissan Echo C240 ( 1966-1971 )

With a fundamental revision of the bodywork in 1966 in addition came the motor ED30.

Nissan Civilian C240 - C341 ( 1971-1981 )

In 1971, there was a revision of the design and the bus was named Nissan Civilian. Engines were now the diesel engines H20, SD22, ED30 and Ed33 from Nissan.

Nissan Civilian W40 ( 1982-1988 )

In 1982, the Civilian W40 model on the market, with the engines Ed33, Z22, SD33 and FD33T of Nissan.

Nissan Civilian W40 ( 1988-1995 )

This was revised in 1988 and offered with the engines Ed33, TD42 and ED35 of Nissan as well as optional air suspension. Since 1993, the Civilian is also offered as Isuzu Journey.

Nissan Civilian W40/Isuzu Journey ( 1995-1999)

1995, this version has been revised again and offered to 1999 with engines ED35, TD42, TD42T of Nissan and Isuzu 4HG1. Optional all-wheel drive was now available.

Nissan Civilian / Isuzu Journey W41 (since 1999)

The built since 1999 type W41 is offered mainly in Japan and various countries in Central and South America. He usually has 26 seats, this is a square in front of the rear window, a door and between the axle and the driver's seat. In previous models, the driver's seat outside the passenger compartment and the driver was standing had to steer the bus.

Known users

The former dictator of Panama, Manuel Noriega, had in his tenure at least a Nissan Civilian for his personal transportation needs. It was a fully equipped luxury version with amenities such as television, toilet and kitchenette.
