As standard in all trim levels, the driver can by means of the so-called " Drive Mode Selector " choose between different driving modes: Normal, Eco and Sport. These programs take, among other changes to the drive train, stability control and the accelerator pedal. In the latter, it is pointed out by a slight back pressure in appropriate situations in Eco mode that gas can be removed to achieve a lower fuel consumption. Depending on the version of the Fuga can be fitted with electronic damping control, cruise control, distance control and lane keeping assist, bi-xenon headlights and other extras.

Technology

The Fuga Y51 is like the predecessor designed only as a four-door sedan that comes standard with rear-wheel drive. Since launch can be chosen between two different V6 petrol engines, of which the more powerful is available with all-wheel drive. The well-known from the previous V8 petrol engine is no longer offered. When transmission is a 7-stage automatic transmission, which also features a manual mode.

At the presentation of the new Nissan Fuga also announced a hybrid version, which is offered in Japan since November 2010. The engine is a specially adapted 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine, which is connected via two parallel clutches with a 50kW electric motor and the automatic transmission. This lightweight and fuel- saving design makes a classic torque converter unnecessary. The electric motor has been designed for higher speeds, so that the Fuga hybrid with all-electric drive can reach a speed of more than 100 km / hour. As energy storage for the electric powered by a lithium -ion battery, which is also supplied by a regenerative braking system energy.

With the introduction of this hybrid system, the Fuga is the first self-developed vehicle of this type of Nissan. From the Altima this was already a hybrid version, but this more complicated technique of the manufacturer Toyota has been installed.

To avoid accidents between pedestrians and the almost silent in the electric drive mode hybrid vehicle at low speeds, Nissan is self-developed security system Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians ( AVSP ) are used. This automatically creates a noise to draw attention to the bystanders while driving up to 30 km / h at a speed reduction below 25 km / h and when reversing.
