Nissan Gazelle

The Nissan Gazelle is a small three-door station wagon coupe, the Nissan, based produced on the S platform, only for the Japanese and Australian markets. The gazelle is the sister model of the Nissan Silvia. It was established that the various dealer networks by Nissan in Japan were able to offer all the Silvia. Between the two model series there are only cosmetic differences. Both the S110 Silvia and the Silvia S12 have a counterpart in the Gazelle series.

In Japan, the S12 Silvia as a combi coupé only available in the basic version, while the S12 Gazelle, the there were only a combi coupe, as a base model, RS and RS -X ( as Silvia sedan ) could be ordered.

In Australia combi coupe and sedan version of the S12 were sold only as a gazelle ( the Silvia it was not there) and were available in the GL and GLX equipment.

In 1988, the S13 Silvia was introduced, the model name gazelle disappeared. Instead, the 180SX was introduced in Japan. In Australia, there was until the introduction of 200SX 1995 no successor.
