Nisse Nilsson

Nils Erik " Nisse " Nilsson ( born March 8, 1936 in Forshaga ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player.

Career

Nils Nilsson began his career as a hockey player in his hometown when Forshaga IF, for the first team he was ever a year from 1952 to 1954 in Division 1, the then highest Swedish league, Division 2, and the second-class active. Subsequently, he also spent one season each in Division 1 and Division 2 when IK Göta. From 1956 to 1962, the Center ran again for his hometown club Forshaga on IF in Division 1. He was then obliged Leksands IF, where he spent the next seven years until his retirement in late 1969. In 1966 he received the Guldpucken player of the year in Sweden. At the end of his career, he won in the 1968/69 season with Leksand national championship. 2002 Nilsson was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame.

Internationally

For Sweden Nilsson participated in the Olympic Winter Games 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo, 1960 in Squaw Valley and 1964 in Innsbruck part. At the Winter Games in 1964 he won the silver medal with his team. In addition, he was in the squad of his country at the World Championships in 1957, 1958, 1962, 1963, 1965 and 1967. At the World Championships in 1958 and 1965, he won the silver medal with his team each the bronze at the World Championships in 1963 and 1967. At the World Championships in 1957 and 1962, Nilsson won the gold medal with Sweden. As the best European team, the team was also European champion in each case.
