NÄ«taure

Nītaure ( German Nitau ) is a place in Latvia and is located about 70 km northeast of Riga. The Rigaische Gulf is located in the northwest about 50 km.

History

In the year 1277 a castle of the Livonian Order was built, which fell into disrepair in the 17th century. The present town was built in the second half of the 19th century distributed as the owner of the local good building sites. In 1897 Nītaure 560 inhabitants.
