Nivala

Nivala [ nivɑlɑ ] is a small town in north-western Finland. It is located around 150 km south of the city of Oulu in the valley of the river Kalajoki in the landscape Ostrobothnia.

To town include not only the main town Nivala the places Aittoperä, Ahde, Haapaperä, Järvikylä, Karvoskylä, Maliskylä, Pahkakylä, Sarjankylä, Välikylä, Padinki, Paloperä, Haikara, Ruuskankylä, Jokikylä, Koskenperä and Ypyä. The main town Nivala is the intersection of the National Road 27 ( Kajaani Kokkola ) and 28 ( Ylavieska - Iisalmi ).

Nivala is shaped like the entire region more rural than urban. A large part of the municipal area is used for agriculture, is flat and landscaped very unattractive. The only significant lake is south of the community center located Pidisjärvi, which is drained by the Kalajoki.

The dominant political force in Nivala is the Centre Party. At the municipal election in 2012, she received nearly two-thirds of the votes. In City Council puts 24 of 35 deputies.
