Nkawkaw

Nkawkaw about 48,500 inhabitants and is the eleventh largest town in the Eastern Region of the West African country of Ghana.

The name Nkawkaw means " red-red ". The town lies on the road ( and the former railway line ) from Accra to Kumasi, halfway between the two towns. A direct road link also consists of the villages of Koforidua and Konongo. Nkawkaw is regarded as the capital of the people of Kwahu.
