No More Tears is the sixth studio album of the musician Ozzy Osbourne. It was released in Germany on 23 September 1991. It is one of his best-selling albums. In the U.S., it reached quadruple platinum. The song I Do not Want to Change the World won the 1994 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.

Formation and style

The album was characterized inter alia by Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead cooperation with the lyrics of four songs. Among them was the power ballad Mama I'm Coming Home, the first Top 40 hit in the U.S. for Ozzy Osbourne solo, like the Grammy excellent piece I Do not Want to Change the World. Metal - dominated songs were just to hear how keyboard highlighted quieter pieces, such as Time After Time. Mr.Tinkertrain acts of child abuse, the title track deals with a serial murder from the point of view of the criminals. Bassist Bob Daisley was there only for the album recordings and was replaced in the subsequent tour by Mike Inez. Inez contributed to the songwriting, however, already at and therefore is already recognized accordingly in the booklet: the intro riff of the title track comes from him. Originally Bob Rock was intended for the production, but this was too much to intervene into the songwriting, which the latter rejected after Osbournes view. The whole band was involved in the making of the album.

Reception

Wrote William Ruhlmann of Allmusic, the album bein hold a unusual large width of the song material. Many songs have had an "energetic, contemporary " metal sound. No More Tears is rated four out of five stars. In the former Rock Hard Götz Kühnemund called the album Osbournes best since The Ultimate Sin by 1986. " Every single song is good or outstanding, and Zakk Wylde worked his six strings like a young god. " He forgave nine out of ten. The Metal Hammer honored the board for "Album of the Month". Martin Groß called it a "classic Ozzy album " with " contemporary Spirit". "Eleven compelling songs " " defiled " by the listener. He forgave seven the maximum number of points, the average of the editors, the plate was 6.1 points.
