Nobatia

Nobatia, also Nobadia, Nobatia, was a Christian empire of the eponymous Nobatae that are occupied in Lower Nubia in present-day northern Sudan since the 4th century AD.

The Nobatae entered under their names in ancient authors and inscriptions in their own (eg, the Silko ) on. These inscriptions are mostly written in Greek, but also in Coptic. From these texts we learn that the Nobatae were involved in an eternal battle with the Blemmyes. Their capital city was Faras.
