Noble County (Indiana)

Noble County is a county located in the state of Indiana in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Albion.

Geography

The County is located almost in the extreme northeast of Indiana, is in the north about 40 miles from Michigan to the east approximately 45 miles from Ohio and has an area of ​​1082 square kilometers, of which 17 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: LaGrange County, Steuben County, DeKalb County, Allen County, Whitley County, Kosciusko County and Elkhart County.

History

Noble County was formed on February 7, 1835 from parts of Allen County, Elkhart County and LaGrange County. It was named after James Noble, the first U.S. Senator from Indiana.
