The County is located in southwestern Minnesota on the Coteau des Prairies mentioned plateau, which extends to the south to Iowa and South Dakota to the west. History
The Nobles County was formed on 23 May 1857 parts of Brown County. It was named after William H. Nobles, a member of the territorial administration of Minnesota from 1854 to 1856.
