Noboru Ueda

Noboru Ueda (Japanese上 田 升, Noboru Ueda, born July 23, 1967 in Akabane (now Tahara ) in Aichi Prefecture, Japan) is a former Japanese motorcycle racer.

Ueda, nicknamed Nobby, started during his entire motorcycle world championship career that lasted from 1991 to 2002, only to Honda in the 125cc class and was twice vice-champion.

Career

Noboru Ueda debuted in 1991 on Honda at his home Grand Prix at Suzuka in the 125cc class of the MotoGP World Championship and won the race from the start. This victory was also the first Japanese success in the 125cc class since 1967. In the following two races in Australia and Spain followed a third place and another victory. After that, the Japanese reached usually only placements in the top ten and closed the season as fifth overall.

After the World Cup rankings nine and five in the years 1992 and 1993, Ueda was on a Honda Team Givi Racing in the 1994 season behind compatriot Kazuto Sakata 125 cc runners-up. In the final standings Ueda had only 30 points behind Sakata.

After the crash on the twelfth World Cup place in the following year and finished seventh in 1996, Noboru Ueda had in the 1997 season with four victories only the outstanding this season Italians Valentino Rossi admit defeat and won his second runner-up title. The following season, a broken arm prevented a good finishing position, Ueda was only World Cup Thirteenth.

Noboru Ueda continued his World Cup career continued until 2002, reaching up to that point but only two wins and could not build on his successful years with his world rankings.

In his 160 starts in the Motorcycle World Championship Noburu Ueda reach 13 wins, 39 podiums, 19 pole positions, and eleven Fastest laps.
