Nobuhiro Yamashita

Nobuhiro Yamashita (Japanese山下 敦 弘, Yamashita Nobuhiro, born August 29, 1976 in Aichi Prefecture ) is a Japanese film director.

Career

Yamashita attended Osaka University of Arts, where he worked on the film Kichiku Dai Enkai ( 1997) by Kazuyoshi Kumakiri. His graduation film Donten seikatsu took in 2000 at the Off Theatre Competition Grand Prize of the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival in part.

He won the 2007 award for Best Director at the 32nd Hochi Film Award for his films Tennen Kokekkō and Matsugane Ransha jiken. He often collaborates with screenwriter Kosuke Mukai, with which he was nominated for the Independent Film - Chlotrudis Awards 2008 for Best Screenplay for Linda Linda Linda. The title of this film is based on a song of the Japanese punk band The Blue Hearts in 1987 and is about a Japanese high school girl band, with a Korean exchange student as a singer who studied this and other pieces of the band.
