Nocrich

Nocrich ( German Lesch church, Hungarian Újegyház ) is a municipality in the district of Sibiu in Transylvania, Romania.

Location

Nocrich located in Harbachtal on a county road and on a narrow gauge railway connecting the 32 kilometers to the county town of Sibiu (Hermannstadt) and the 28 km distant city Agnita ( Agnetheln ). On the whoosh as the web is affectionately known, however, rests the traffic.

Towns

The municipality includes the following villages Nocrich: Nocrich ( 1154 inhabitants), Fofeldea (246 inhabitants, German high-field ), Ghijasa de Jos ( 135 inhabitants, dt lower buttocks), Hosman ( ger quantities of wood, Hungarian Holcmány ) ( 798 inhabitants) and Tichindeal ( 174 inhabitants, dt goats Thal ).

Attractions

  • Evangelical Church of the castle Nocrich, a medieval fortifications of the four towers and a perimeter wall are still preserved. The focus was a Romanesque basilica dating from the 13th century, which was demolished by order of Samuel von Brukenthal to build on their property from 1803 to 1806 a new church.
  • Evangelical parsonage, it was built from 1796 to 1798 and has been preserved as a historical monument.
  • Orthodox Church of the Holy Vasile, she stands in the village belonging to Nocrich Fofeldea. Between 1975 and 1978 it was restored. The interior painting comes from the brothers Grecu from Săsăuş
  • Evangelical Church of the castle quantities of wood, which was built in the 13th century. In the 18th century it was rebuilt into a Baroque hall church.   • Orthodox Church of the Venerable Paraschiva in Tichindeal, It was built in 1791 and has been preserved as a historical monument. The interior painting comes here from the brothers Grecu.
