Nocturnus

Nocturnus was an American death metal band from Tampa, Florida. Nocturnus were the first Death Metal band, the keyboards inserting as a complete instrument, however, the band's music is substantially different from Scandinavian bands that use keyboards, because the keyboard has not been used as the main instrument.

History

The band was created in 1986 by Mike Browning and Vincent Crowley to life after Browning had gotten in " Morbid Angel ". In the same year Nocturnus broke up briefly and Mike Browning sought new musicians to the band to continue. Vincent Crowley founded his band Acheron.

After the two demos the band received a recording contract by Earache Records (including Napalm Death, Morbid Angel) and released the debut album, The Key. The album was a milestone, which was also reflected in the sales figures for that time. When the second album went on to sell worse, the musicians of Nocturnus sought to blame the label and the band parted company with Earache Records, and broke up in 1993.

In 1999, the band members came together again. After an album that also only moderately selling the band dissolved in 2002 to be final.

In the fall of 2008, a European tour with Mike Browning and some musicians from his new band After Death under the name Nocturnus. According to information from Browning have his former bandmates Nocturnus Nocturnus the rights only in the U.S., outside the United States may occur with Browning Nocturnus.

In April 2013 completed Mike Browning and some After Death Death musicians under the name Nocturnus a gig in Mexico.
