Noda (Iwate)

Noda (Japanese野 田村, -mura ) is a village community in the district Kunohe in the east of Iwate Prefecture in Japan.

Geography

Noda is located at the eastern foot of the Kitakami mountain country on the Noda Bay (野 田湾, Noda - wan) of the Pacific Ocean.

In the northern part there is a vast estuary of several rivers. In these, the resort center and the district Noda is with the majority of the population. The district and thus village name comes from these geographical conditions since no野"Prairie " means and because田" rice field ". This district is in turn subdivided into 37 numbered sub- districts, with some of them are also in the sparsely populated hinterland. A few kilometers further south is another small delta with the hamlet of Tamagawa (玉川, literally " jewel river ") and its 5 also numbered sub- districts.
