Noé, Haute-Garonne

Noé is a commune with 2676 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haute- Garonne in the Midi-Pyrénées region. The inhabitants are called Noémiens.

Géographie

The city is located about 35 km south-southwest of Toulouse and 16 km from Muret located on the Garonne.

Neighboring communities of Noé are Le Fauga in the north, Mauzac in the northeast, Montaut in the east, Capens in the south, the west and Longages Lavernose - Lacasse in the northwest.

History

During the Second World War there was a camp for forced internees between the towns Noé, Le Fauga and Mauzac, called Camp de Noé.
