Noel Furlong

JJ " Noel " Furlong ( born December 25, 1937 in Dublin ) is an amateur poker player who won the World Series of Poker 1999. He has been through his job as a carpet manufacturer millionaire.

Furlong began in 1983, to play poker. On his first visit to the World Series of Poker 1989 he landed already in 6th place in the main tournament. Ten years later, Furlong scored a major victory when he won the main event at the World Series of Poker in 1999 and thus a million dollars.

Up to Andrew Black's 5th place at the World Series 2005 Furlong was the most winning Irish poker player in the world. By 2011, Furlong has won more than $ 1,145,000 in poker tournaments.

Furlong has a company that sells carpets and thereby makes more than 100 million dollars in sales annually. Since it is highly stressed by his company, he does not play poker regularly, but usually only the World Series and tournaments in Ireland and Western Europe.
