Nogaret

Nogaret is a commune with 70 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haute- Garonne in the Midi-Pyrénées region.

Geographical Location

The municipality is located in Lauragais, 43 km east of Toulouse. The nearest towns are Montgey Montégut -Lauragais, Puéchoursi, Saint Julia and Garrevaques.

History

Was founded in the town in the 12th century. In 1271, the first time swore the landlords of Nogaret an oath to the King.

On August 5, 1585 was a procession that was about to go after Montégut -Lauragais surprised by Reformed and many were killed.

The Church of Nogaret, Saint- Etienne, was described in 1538 as Montégut -Lauragais annexed. The local church and the church of Nogaret were damaged in 1570 by the Huguenots. On January 5, 1774, the permanent elimination of the parish of Montégut was decided.
