Nolan Kasper

Nolan Kasper ( born March 27, 1989 in Morristown, New Jersey) is an American skier. Its strengths lie in the technical disciplines, especially in the slalom.

Biography

Kasper, whose father worked as a ski instructor at a ski area of New Jersey, was already three years old on skis. He attended Burke Mountain Academy in Burke, Vermont, and was admitted after several successes in youth races into the 2007 junior team of the U.S. Ski Association. In the same year he played his first race in the Nor- Am Cup. At the Junior World Championships 2009 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen Kasper won the bronze medal in the slalom.

In the 2009/2010 season Nolan Kasper had his first big success. He won a Nor- Am race, reaching five other podium finishes. He was also the winner of the slalom standings and third in the overall standings. This season he started for the first time in the World Cup. In slalom in Kitzbuehel, he qualified for the first time for the second round of the best thirty, but stayed because of the great time without residue World Cup points. First World Cup points, he won two days later with rank 24 in the night slalom in Schladming, Kaspers only third World Cup races. He was nominated for the 2010 Olympics and went in the slalom on the 24th Place.

After Kasper had for almost a year not spotted in the World Cup, but in the 2010/2011 season good results in the European Cup scoring ( he won the slalom standings and finished fifth in the overall ranking ), he drove 23 January 2011 at number twelve in the slalom in Kitzbuehel and two days later at No. 13 in Schladming. Next month, he reached the 15th place in the slalom at the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch -Partenkirchen. Nolan could be increased further and reached the end of February in Bansko for the first time a top- 10 ranking in the World Cup. On March 6, 2011 it ( the same time as Axel Bäck ) succeeded with second place in the slalom in Kranjska Gora, the first podium in a World Cup race. He finished the 2010/2011 season as the 17th in the slalom World Cup.

In September 2011, Kasper was operated at the hip, which he could again begin until early November with snow training. However, he reached the fourth place, which was his best result of the season in his first World Cup start in winter 2011/2012 in the Slalom in Beaver Creek on December 8. In two other World Cup slalom race of the winter he went into the top ten, in the slalom World Cup he came like in the previous year among the top 20 in the spring of 2012, he had to again undergo hip surgery.

On December 7, 2012 Kasper suffered during training before the slalom World Cup race in Val d'Isere serious knee injury.
