Non Sung District

Amphoe Non Sung ( Thai: อำเภอ โนนสูง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the center of Nakhon Ratchasima. The Nakhon Ratchasima province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Khong which, Phimai, Chakkarat, Chaloem Phra Kiat, Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima, Non Thai and Kham Sakaesaeng - all counties are located in the province of Nakhon Ratchasima.

Ban Non Wat, a village of the district is an important archaeological site of the Bronze Age.

History

The old name of the district was sound. The word sound is Thai for the middle. This referred to the location between the districts of Nok ( Amphoe Bua Yai today ) and Nai ( Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima today ).

When the Thais had to choose a Thai family name at the beginning of the 20th century, many residents chose this district for a name that contained the sound.

Management

The district Non Sung is divided into 16 communes ( tambon), which in turn translates into 195 village communities ( Muban ) divide ..

There are seven small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Non Sung ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โนนสูง ) consists of the whole tambon Non Sung,
  • Talat Khae ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ตลาด แค ) consists of parts of the tambon Than Prasat,
  • Makha ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล มะค่า ) consists of parts of the tambon Makha,
  • May ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ใหม่ ) consists of the whole Tambon Mai,
  • Dan Khla ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ด่าน คล้า ) consists of the whole tambon Dan Khla,
  • Don Wai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ดอน หวาย ) consists of the whole tambon Don Wai,
  • At Chan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล จัน อัด ) consists of the whole Tambon Chan At.

In addition, there are eleven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
