Nong Don District

Amphoe Nong Don ( Thai: อำเภอ หนองโดน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northwestern part of the province of Saraburi. The Saraburi Province lies in the Central Region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Mueang Lopburi Province Lop Buri and Amphoe Phra Phutthabat, Amphoe Ban Amphoe Don Phut Mo and the province of Saraburi.

History

About ten kilometers from Bang Khamoad in today's Amphoe Ban Mo is a large pond with a large Kradon tree ( Careya sphaerica Roxb; Thai:. ต้น กระโดน ). Immigrants from Dong Noi, Mueang Lopburi Kokko and there founded a village which she Ban Nong Kradon (short: Ban Nong Don ) called.

As the village grew, the government separated, 15 July 1968 from the three tambon Nong Don, Ban Don Thong Klap and from Amphoe Ban Mo, to create a new sub-district ( King Amphoe ). On August 21, 1975 Nong Don got the full Amphoe status.

Management

Amphoe Nong Don is divided into four subdistricts (tambon ), which in turn divided into 34 villages ( Muban ).

There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Nong Don ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนองโดน ) consists of 1.94 km ² of Tambon Nong Don.

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
