Nong Han District

Amphoe Nong Han ( Thai อำเภอ หนองหาน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Udon Thani. The Udon Thani Province is located in the northwestern part of Northeast Thailand, Isaan.

Geography

Neighbouring districts (from the south clockwise): the Amphoe Chai Wan, Ku Kaeo, Prachaksinlapakhom, Mueang Udon Thani, Phibun Rak and Thung Fon in the province of Udon Thani, Amphoe Sawang Daen Din and the province of Sakon Nakhon.

History

The archaeological site of Ban Chiang heard since 1992 as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Mueang Nong Han was originally one of the four districts of Udon Thani, who were appointed by the Thesaphiban administrative reform in 1908 to a Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Nong Han is in twelve communities ( tambon) divided, which in turn in 161 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are five small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Nong Han ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนองหาน ), consisting of parts of the tambon Nong Han,
  • Ban Chiang ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน เชียง ), consisting of parts of the Tambon Ban Chiang,
  • Nong Mek ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง เม็ก ), consisting of parts of the tambon Nong Mek,
  • Khok Sung ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โคก สูง ), consisting of Tambon Nong Mek other parts of the,
  • Nong Phai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนองไผ่ ), consisting of the whole tambon Nong Phai least.

In addition, there are ten " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.

Note: The missing numbers belong to tambon from which today Phibun Rak or Ku Kaeo exist.
