Nong Khayang District

Amphoe Nong Khayang ( Thai อำเภอ หนองขาหย่าง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Uthai Thani. The Uthai Thani Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from west clockwise): Amphoe Nong Chang, Uthai Thani Mueang Thap Than, and the province of Uthai Thani, and Amphoe Wat Sing and the Nong Mamong in the province of Chainat.

History

In the Ayutthaya period Nong Luang ( หนอง หลวง ) was an important frontier post. When the government in 1917 changed the status of the District of Khwaeng to Amphoe, Nong Luang was part of the province of Uthai Thani. The following year, the administration was moved to Noen Po, simultaneously Nong Luang was renamed in Nong Khayang.

Economy
