Nong Phai District

Amphoe Nong Phai ( Thai อำเภอ หนอง ไผ > ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Phetchabun. The Phetchabun province located in the southeastern part of the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Amphoe Nong Phai lies to the east of the province of Phetchabun. The area is dominated by the foothills of the Phetchabun Mountains. Main watercourse is the River Pasak.

Amphoe Nong Phai bordered clockwise as seen from the Amphoe Bueng Sam Phan, Chon Daen Mueang Phetchabun and from the province of Phetchabun and Nong Bua Daeng and to Phakdi Chumphon Province Chaiyaphum from the south.

History

Nong Phai was built in 1961 as a small district ( King Amphoe ). In 1963, this advancement to a full Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Nong Phai consists of 13 subdistricts ( tambon), which further into 135 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Well Chaliang ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล นา เฉลียง ) consists of parts of the tambon Na Chaliang,
  • Nong Phai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนองไผ่ ) consists of parts of the tambon Nong Phai,
  • Yang Ngam ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เฉลียง ทอง ) consists of parts of the tambon Yang Ngam.

There are also 13 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
