Nong Sung District

Amphoe Nong Sung ( Thai อำเภอ หนอง สูง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the west of the province of Mukdahan. The Mukdahan province lies in the western part of the Northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Khamcha -i, Mueang Mukdahan and Nikhom Kham Soi Province Mukdahan, Loeng Nok Tha in the province of Yasothon, Nong Phok in the province of Roi Et, Kalasin and Kuchinarai the province.

History

Nong Sung was on 1 March 1985, initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by five Tambon were separated from Amphoe Khamcha -i. On 3 November 1993 Nong Sung has been promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Nong Sung is divided into six subdistricts (tambon ), which continued in 44 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

In Amphoe Nong Sung, there are three small towns ( Tambon thesaban ):

  • Phu Wong ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ภู วง ) consists of the whole tambon Phu Wong,
  • Ban Pao ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน เป้า ) consists of the whole tambon Ban Pao,
  • Nong Sung Nuea ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง สูง เหนือ ) consists of the whole tambon Nong Nong Sung and Sung Nuea.

In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
