Noorderkerk

The Reformed Noorderkerk is a built in 1620-1623 church on the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. The construction was begun under the architect Hendrick de Keyser and completed after his death by his son Pieter de Keyser.

The church, which has an octagonal floor plan, was restored in the years 1993 to 1998. The city of Amsterdam and the Dutch state had it massively involved. As a " return " the church was opened for cultural purposes, such as concerts are scheduled today.

The organ was built from 1847 to 1849. The organ case and organ works were built by the Zimmermann G. Nijhoff, under the supervision of the architect and the organ builder Knipscheer. The organ was recently extensively restored in 2005 by the organ builder Flentrop and returned to its original state. The instrument has 27 stops on two manuals and pedal. The tracker action are mechanical.
