Nootka Island

Nootka Iceland is an island off Vancouver Iceland ( west ) in British Columbia ( western Canada ) with an area of 534 km ².

It is separated by the Nootka Sound on Vancouver Iceland.

The name comes from the indigenous people of the Nuu- chah- nulth ( Nootka ) on Vancouver Iceland.

The British navigator John Meares discovered the island in 1788 as the first Europeans.
