NORAID

Noraid ( " Irish Northern Aid Committee ") is an organization that was founded in 1970 by Martin Flannery in the USA. It supports the radical Irish liberation struggle. Noraid collects donations in America and supported the IRA with money and weapons.

Background is the fact that millions of U.S. citizens are Irish stout and catholic and wish the unity of Ireland, but do not trust a peaceful solution to the Northern Ireland issue through negotiations between the Government of Ireland, the UK Government and the Northern Ireland conflict parties. Since the Good Friday Agreement of 1998, the question arises as to the future of noraid.
