Norbert Kückelmann

Norbert Kückelmann ( born May 1, 1930 in Munich) is a German film director, lawyer and author.

Biography

Norbert Kückelmann studied in the 1950s Jura. During his studies he worked as a film critic for the radio. In 1957 he passed the state examination and subsequently worked as a lawyer in Munich and Mainz. Through his critics activity he stood in connection with the Munich scene. In 1965 he founded with Alexander Kluge and Hans Rolf Strobel Board of Trustees Young German film. He continued to work as a lawyer, as in 1972 he directed his first feature film turned. The experts he showed in competition at the Berlinale in 1973 and immediately won a Silver Bear. The film also received the German Film Award for Best Feature Film.

In 1974 he founded with Peter Lilienthal film and television writers GmbH, which from now produced his films. In 1984 he took part in a second time at the Berlinale competition in 1984 and won with morning in Alabama his second Silver Bear. For the ZDF film abortion, he received the 1993 TV movie award of the German Academy of Performing Arts.

Norbert Kückelmann is the brother of actress Gertrude Kückelmann.
