Norbert Mueller

Norbert Edward " Stuffy " Mueller ( born February 14, 1906 in Waterloo, Ontario, † July 6, 1956 in Toronto, Ontario) was a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.

Career

Norbert Mueller spent part of his career as a professional ice hockey goaltender with the Toronto Varsity level, with which in 1927 the Allan Cup, the Canadian amateur championship titles won. The following year he took the degree Varsity Canada at the Olympic Winter Games. After the tournament, he played for several years in the senior championship of the Ontario Hockey Association for the amateur team Toronto National Sea Fleas, with whom he also won the 1932 Allan Cup. After end of his career he worked in the insurance industry. At the age of 50, he died in 1956 at the consequences of a heart attack.

Internationally

For Canada, Mueller took part in the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 in St. Moritz, where he won the gold medal with his team. In his only use in the tournament, the 14-0 win against Great Britain, he reached a shutout. In 1933 he participated with the national team at the World Cup, winning the silver medal.
