Norbert Peters (priest)

Norbert Peters ( * August 5, 1863 in Sundern -Allendorf, † January 20, 1938 in Paderborn, Germany ) was a Catholic priest and high school teacher.

Life

He was born in 1863 in Allendorf, the eldest of ten children. After graduation in 1883, he studied in Würzburg, Münster and Paderborn. 1887 Peters was ordained a priest. After two years in pastoral ministry, he went for another three years after Bonn and Tübingen. There he studied Biblical Studies and Philology. In 1892, Peters received his doctorate in Tübingen as a doctor of theology. He subsequently received in Paderborn at the Episcopal Philosophical- Theological Academy chair of Old Testament exegesis. Peters has published over 30 works. He died in 1938 in Paderborn.
