Norbert Ringels

Norbert Ringel ( born September 16, 1956) is a former German football player.

Career

Norbert " Nonno " Ringel played from 1975 to 1985 in the Bundesliga for Borussia Mönchengladbach and denied doing 163 games ( 6 goals) for the Foals. The defender was under coach Udo Lattek equal to celebrate two German league title in his first years. In 1979 he triumphed with Borussia in the UEFA Cup final against Red Star Belgrade. With the defeat in the final of the DFB Cup 1984 against Bayern Munich, he was the decisive penalty shoot next Lothar Matthäus one of the two errors protecting the Borussia. In 1985 he moved to VVV -Venlo.

Others

From July 2008 Ringels trained the first team of the district division side SV Mönchengladbach in 1910, the home club of the German international Marcell Jansen. He currently belongs to the coach and coaching staff of the team tradition " The Weisweiler Elf ". Ringel's lives in Mönchengladbach, working as a clerk, is the father of two children and three grandsons.
