Norberto Costa Alegre

Norberto José d' Alva Costa Alegre (* 1951) was from 1992 to 1994 Prime Minister of São Tomé and Príncipe.

Political career

He joined the 1990 founded Partido de Convergència Democrática de - Grupa reflexão (PCD -GR). In the reign of Daniel Lima dos Santos Daio he was finance and economic ministers. After his dismissal by the ruling since 1991 president Miguel Trovoada on 22 April 1992, he was on May 16, new head of government. His term ended on 2 July 1994, when he was dismissed by the President. His successor was the former defense minister Evaristo Carvalho, who was it excluded from the PCD -GR.
