Nordine Oubaali

Nordine Oubaali (* August 4, 1986 ) is a French boxer of Moroccan descent. He fights in the flyweight ( up to 48 kg) and was bronze medalist of the box world championships in 2007 in Chicago in light flyweight.

Oubaali is the 13th of 17 children of his parents.

Career

In the youth level ( U19) Oubaali took part in a French champion light flyweight at the 2004 World Championships and was eliminated in the quarterfinals of. The following year he won the Brandenburg Cup, a prestigious junior tournament, took the bronze medal at the Junior European Championships and gold at the Games of La Francophonie in Niamey.

His start in the men's area Oubaali celebrated with the participation at the French Championships in 2006, he was able to win right away. He could this success in the light flyweight in the years 2007 and 2008, repeated in 2009 and 2010 flyweight. 2011 and 2012 he did not take part in the national championships.

Here, however, he lost to eventual champion Zhou Shiming of China. with the bronze medal he won thus qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games.

At the Olympic Games in 2008 Oubaali scored on a tight first round victory against the Uzbeks Rafikjon Sultanov ( 8:7 ) already in the second round again to Zhou Shiming, who was on his way to Olympic gold medal and the only time he is extremely scarce (3 : 3 ) had to admit defeat.

2009 increased Oubaali on the flyweight and won in this new weight class, the Mediterranean Games in Pescara. But with the 2009 World Championships in Milan, he left in the first battle against the Kazakhs Olzhas Sattibayev ( 8:13 ). The European Championships in the following year were not very successful for him as he already retired in the second round against Mikhail Alojan from Russia ( 3:10 ). From 2010 Oubaali fought regularly for Paris in the World Series of Boxing.

The second part flyweight at the World Championships was crowned for Oubaali not successful. In Baku, he won his first fight against the Turkmen Zarip Dzhumayev ( 24:11 ), but lost in the second round against Michael Conlon of Ireland ( 17:20 ).

The so missed direct qualification for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he tried to reach the European Olympic Qualification Tournament in Ankara. He succeeded with a final victory over the Swedes Solomon N'tuve ( 11:10 ).
