The integrated municipality consists of the member communities Balje, Freiburg / Elbe, Krummendeich, Oederquart and wiping harbor.

History

Under pressure from the Lower Saxon and administrative reform, the aforementioned member communities decided on December 28, 1970, however, to form a unified community. With effect from 1 January 1971, therefore, was the Municipality Nordkehdingen.

Samtgemeinde Mayor

First Samtgemeinde was mayor from 1971 to 1996 Benedict -Friedrich von der Decken.

In the local elections in 2001 joined with the non-party Edgar Goedecke to only one candidate for the post of full-time integrated municipality mayor. The Diploma in Public Administration received broad support in the population. He was re- elected in 2006 with 86.75 % of all votes.
