Nordstrom

The Nordstrom, Inc. is an American department store and mail order chain. The headquarters and most important flagship store are located in Seattle, Washington. Nordstrom operates in the upper price segment with rivals such as Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor. In Germany, as in all of Europe, we have no business operations.

History

Nordstrom was founded in 1901 as a single shoe store of the Swedish immigrant John W. Nordstrom and Carl Wallin in Seattle. It took 22 years until a second shoe store was come. In 1928, John W. Nordstrom retired from the business and transferred his shares to his two sons. 1929 resigned also Wallin and sold their two sons Nordstroms his shares. It took another 31 years until the business had expanded to eight stores in two states. In 1963, the company, in addition to shoes and clothing for sale began.
