Nordvest-Spitsbergen-Nationalpark

The Nordvest - Spitsbergen National Park (Norwegian Nordvest - Spitsbergen nasjonalpark ) is a 9914 km ² national park on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen. The National Park covers 3683 km ² and 6231 km ² mainland sea surface. The park is one of seven national parks in Svalbard. It was founded in 1973.

In Nordvest - Spitsbergen National Park, there is a contrasting landscape with mountains, glaciers, islands and bays. Also hot springs are found in the park. In the national park there are also the ruins of the abandoned Dutch whale catcher Smeerenburg from the 17th century.
